Google Interview Warmup is gone: 5 ways to practise interviews in 2026

Interview Warmup was Google's free practice tool: it asked you recorded questions, transcribed your answer and pointed at your wording. It was retired in April 2026. If you are looking for a Google Interview Warmup alternative, here are five that work today, with their trade-offs.

1. A practice call with a real person

Still the best. Ask a friend, a colleague or a trainer to play the interviewer on Google Meet or Zoom and to be strict. Record the call and listen to it once. Cost: free. Limit: you depend on someone's time, and a friend is rarely strict enough.

2. An AI interviewer agent

Several services offer a voice agent that asks interview questions and follows up, some of them inside a video call. They are available at midnight and never get tired. Limit: most speak English only, and none adapts its questions to your language level.

3. ChatGPT or Gemini in voice mode

Free, flexible and multilingual. Tell it the job and ask it to interview you. Limit: it does not join a call, it tends to answer for you, and it will not keep to short A2 sentences unless you keep reminding it.

4. A delivery coach like Yoodli

Yoodli scores how you speak: pace, filler words, pauses. Good once you know what to say. Limit: it does not help with the words themselves, and it is English-first.

5. DEBOB2, for language learners

DEBOB2 is a desktop app for Mac and Windows that runs inside your Meet or Zoom practice call. It hears the interviewer, translates the question, and shows a short answer at your CEFR level in a teleprompter; your own prepared answers come back word for word. It covers nine languages and is sold as an 8-week pass. Limit: it is a training tool only, by design and by its terms, and it needs your own OpenRouter and ElevenLabs keys (a few cents per session).
