Is DEBOB2 for real interviews?
No. DEBOB2 is a training tool for simulations: practice calls with an AI agent, a trainer or a friend. The terms say so. The goal is that on the real day you do not need it.
Why do I need my own API keys?
DEBOB2 uses two AI services with your own accounts: OpenRouter for the answers and ElevenLabs for hearing the call and the voice. You pay them directly, at cost, with no markup from us. A 30-minute session costs about 0.30 € without voice. Your keys stay on your computer.
Does it work with Zoom and Google Meet?
Yes, on macOS and Windows. DEBOB2 listens to the call audio (the other person), not to your microphone, so your own voice is never transcribed.
Which languages and levels?
German, English, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Turkish and Arabic, at CEFR levels A1, A2 and B1. The question can be translated into your own language.
How long does setup take?
About ten minutes. A guided setup checks your computer, tests your two API keys live, lets you pick a scenario and level, and checks that the call audio is heard.
Does my voice get transcribed?
No. DEBOB2 captures the call audio, which is the other person. Your microphone is used only, optionally, to notice when you start speaking so questions are kept apart.
Which computers are supported?
Mac with Apple Silicon on macOS 14.2 or newer, and Windows 10 or 11. Intel Macs are not supported for call audio capture.
My Mac says the app is from an unidentified developer.
DEBOB2 is from a small publisher without an Apple certificate yet. Right-click the app and choose Open, then Open again; macOS asks once. Windows shows a SmartScreen notice: click More info, then Run anyway. We publish the SHA-256 of every installer.
How much do the API keys cost?
OpenRouter: pay as you go, about 0.12 € for twenty answers. ElevenLabs: API access starts with their paid plans (about 5 $ per month), and transcription is about 0.20 € per 30-minute session. Both show every cent and let you set limits.
Can I use it without an ElevenLabs key?
A local Whisper model can transcribe instead, slower and less accurate. For the natural voice you need ElevenLabs.
What data leaves my computer?
Call audio goes to ElevenLabs for transcription and questions go to OpenRouter for the answer, both with your keys. To us: the licence check (hashed device id, computer name, app version) and the details you enter after activation (name, email, phone, purpose). Nothing else. No usage telemetry.
Does it work offline?
The licence keeps working for 10 days without internet. The AI parts need an internet connection.
Can I get a refund?
If the app does not work on your computer after our help on Telegram, we refund the Pass within 7 days of purchase.
Is using AI in a real interview cheating?
Yes. It is also usually a breach of the employer's or exam board's rules. DEBOB2 is for practice: that is what the terms say and what the screen-share guard enforces.
